Please let me congratulate you first with the release of your excellent debut album, please tell us more about your band?
Me and Jan had been talking about writing music together for ages but nothing really happened. But one day in 2018 he phoned me up and said “let’s give it a try”. So we met up in my studio and it all snowballed from there. Jan has known Jonas for over 25 years and we both knew his vocal qualities. So we phoned him up to see if he wanted to join us and thankfully he said yes.

Your music is pure 80s AOR, I guess SURVIVOR and JOURNEY are your main influences?
In a word: YES! 😊 The Swedish band Europe is also a great influence

Due to corona, touring is not possible, do you think you will tour when it is possible again?
We certainly hope so

I guess you are all also involved in other bands/projects?

Not really to be honest. We’re all pushing 50 and with families and daytime jobs it’s hard to find the time. Personally I wouldn’t want another project or band.

Back to WINDING ROAD, how did you get in touch with AOR Heaven?
George from AOR Heaven sent us a message via our Facebook page and we sent him some demos. He then offered us a deal which we signed.

How is it possible that there are so many Swedish AOR bands?
I don’t have a simple answer for that but my guess is that it has a lot to do with Swedish folk music which is very melodic. You can also get music education for almost free from a very early age.
Every municipality have a music school where you can learn to play instruments for almost (or in some cases) free of charge. I work at a school like that and I'm teaching guitar, bass and music production.

If gigs aren't allowed also this year, how will you promote this album besides doing countless interviews, streaming concerts or already writing for a future album?
Beeing active on social media and word of mouth I guess.

A few short questions that you hopefully are willing to share with us:

- Favorite band of all times: I have to say The Beatles
- Favorite album of all times: changes constantly but right now it’s Out of This World by Europe
- Favorite music genre besides AOR: I enjoy everything that’s melodic
- Best concert ever visited: Aerosmith. Wasn’t a fan but I was floored. Steven Tyler is an amazing frontman
- Last concert visited: Brad Paisley
- Best performed concert/gig you did yourself: Can’t really remember. For 15 years all I did was tour. Played around 150 shows a year so the memories become sort of a blur :-)
- Last performed concert/gig you did yourself: Played in a houseband backing up various singers. Among them a swedish legend called Björn Skiffs and that has been on my bucket list for a long time.
- First bought record (or CD): Creatures Of The Night by Kiss
- Last bought record (or CD): Probably some local act just for support.
- Most precious moment in your life (could be non-music related): When my kids were born
- 2020 is... Not the most exciting year but regarding music I got a lot done.
- 2021 is so far... Like 2020
- 2022 will be... I hope that it will be the year with the pandemic under control so that we gan go back to normal

- First thing you do when restrictions is over and you’re free to do whatever you want to do: Visiting my sister in Stockholm and hopefully see a good concert and have a few beers.

Good luck with your music and thanks for answering the questions.

Thanks, My pleasure
